      Pros

      because the company is so large with products in many areas, there are many opportunities for career change within the company

      Cons

      employees seem to be promoted based on relationships and favoritism instead of merit. overall compensation is poor, the impression of most employees is that compensation is feast or famine, with a small number of employees receiving a majority of the compensation pool and most of the employees living on hope.

      Pros

      There is room for advancement if your are in the right division. You are given proper time off for family issues when needed. Oracle is very understanding when it comes to personal issues.

      Cons

      You can easily be overlooked. The different cultures here @ Oracle don't always mesh so well. As much as we would want them to, it is just reality.

      Pros

      The money is very difficult to beat, and some of your peers will be the smartest people in the marketplace and will become lifelong colleagues.

      Cons

      Oracle is not a work-life balance place. Plan on working non-stop while you are there - that is both a strength and a weakness of the company. Typically they give 2-3 people the same job and see who is standing at the end of the quarter. The person standing gets to keep the job for the next quarter. In addition, the ethics of this organization are both good in pockets and tremendously bad. There are managers on the government side doing business in such a manner as to be shocking. If you want to have an ethical compass, I would make sure you have it well in place before you work at Oracle.
