Pros

Learn valuable skills for your next position with another company!

Cons

During my tenure with Oracle, mostly in a consulting role, I found that it is a dysfunctional organization with poor management and very little communication. They re-organize their org structure every year so there is little continuity (In a five year period, I had seven managers, some who I never met in person!). There is very little done to develop cohesive teams.

Pros

Oracle provides ample opportunities for advancement. However at Oracle it is essential to understand that you are on your own! You must create your own opportunities and networks. Oracle rewards those employees that are aggressive and that set out to be leaders.

Cons

Oracle does not go out of its way to make employees feel 'fuzzy' . All business all the time. Not necessarily a downside but it could be for some. The best reason to work for Oracle (see above) could also be a downside for some.
