Pros

After going through more job interviews than I can count, many of which felt clinical, intense, and one-sided, Octopus was a total breath of fresh air. From the start, the process was relaxed, respectful, and human. There were no silly time-consuming tasks or artificial stress tests. They didn’t try to trip me up, they tried to understand me. And that makes all the difference. It felt more like a conversation than an interrogation. I didn’t have to mask or explain myself, whether that was in relation to my cultural background or my neurodiverse brain. They got it. And they welcomed it. ✅ Pros: No pressure, no pointless hoops to jump through, just real, respectful conversations. Super inclusive and supportive, I felt seen and valued even before sitting down for a proper chat. Flexible, honest, and genuinely interested in who I am, not just what’s on my CV. The first time a hiring process felt 50/50, like they were assessing fit for both sides, not just putting me under a microscope.

Cons

No cons, I can only review the hiring experience which was top-notch, and the first month so far.

Thanks so much for your feedback! You've put into words exactly how we hope every person feels when they meet someone from our team for the first time, whether that's a recruiter or a hiring manager. Interviews shouldn't feel like exams. They should feel like conversations between real people. We’re so happy that you felt seen, heard, and respected throughout your experience. That’s exactly the kind of environment we’re building at Octopus, where being yourself isn’t just accepted but celebrated. We know looking for jobs can be tough (and often exhausting) so hearing that we offered a breath of fresh air makes us happy! We’ll keep working hard to make sure our interview process stays this way :) Thanks, Olivia (Global Head of Talent Acquisition)

Pros

Fortnightly massages, Friday work drinks, bonuses / incentives, random treats, dinners etc. positive work environment where you are encouraged to give honest feedback - this also means lot of meetings though.

Cons

After a year I started to feel a little bored of sending repetitive emails, but there is an unlimited amount of stuff to learn so you will never be like “I know everything”. They’re weird about working from home like generally you can only work from home one day a week and they would prefer that it’s on a Tuesday or Thursday despite advertising “work life flexibility”. Generally they are understanding about it though. Okay pay I’ve been here a year and four months and on over 60k
