Pros

- I joined Octopus during the lockdown and had a pleasant experience with the whole selection process, from quick feedbacks to open & transparent interviews. For the first time, I felt relaxed in an interview to show what I could contribute and also to learn more about the company culture! - Culture fit is essential if you are considering to apply for Octopus! Although large enough not to be a startup anymore, the open and non-hierarchical culture is still in place, and proactivity is extremely necessary to deliver your best!

Cons

- Processes are not admired here (which is not necessary a down point), but if you think this is important for your way of work, it is good to have this in mind.

- Joined during COVID-19 lockdown, joining process was so smooth - The working environment is so smooth and nice - Easly communicate any concerns to even CEO direcly - The working structure is so Agile - People are frindly and approachable

Pros

- Talented co-workers. - Interesting domain. - A lot of freedom to learn and explore. - The management are very accepting of learning by failing, and the team culture is very accepting of this.

Cons

- New joiners are habitually given large projects to work on independently and without a lot of guidance or supervision. This doesn't help with learning team conventions and often pitches people in the deep end. - Work is prioritised inconsistently with many stakeholders approaching developers directly. - Work is undertaken on the basis that 'someone asked for it' without a deep understanding of the problem to be solved.
