One of the most enjoyable recruitment processes I’ve done!
Pros
- You’re assigned your own recruitment manager through Instant Impact who supports and guides you throughout the whole process. (My recruitment manager Egle was an absolute diamond. She was friendly, helpful and very transparent with how I was performing - the transparency allowed me to accurately reflect at each recruitment point meaning I was able to go off, prepare and perform the best I could at the next stage. - If you prove well in the initial call with your recruitment manager you’re invited to a discovery day. The discovery day gives you the chance to meet people from all over the company, a chance to understand the logistics and see where your Octopus career could lead. The discovery day is split into different segments... the first part is all about the company itself, introducing yourself through ice breakers and then brainstorming ideas. The second part is a chance for you to ask questions and the final part is a one to one interview. - If you’re successful at the discovery day your be sent two tests through TPTESTS.COM One test is numeracy based and the other explores different scenarios giving you the chance to show the recruitment team how you’d respond and deal with them. - If you pass the tests then your be invited to a final call where your go through a few admin tasks and also have the chance to express your intentions. Is this job going to be a short term thing for you? Or are you looking to progress and make it a career? - this is your last chance to impress. Overall I found the recruitment process fair and friendly. I loved having Egle to go back to after each stage for feedback and found her very supportive. Top tip! Be confident, do your research on the company and know what you want out of the job! The reason why I applied for the role was because of the vast amount of opportunities the company has, with it being one of the fastest growing energy companies around right now! I also felt enticed by the huge amount of company benefits they give their employees.
Cons
There isn’t many cons to the process other than the fact it’s slightly more long winded than most recruitment processes.
