      Worst job I’ve ever had.

      Some great engineers to work alongside, who you can share your misery with.

      If you’re thinking of joining Octopus on the heat pump side – don’t. Nobody is happy, everyone is planning on leaving, and senior management couldn’t care less. Expect 50–60 hour weeks, long drives disguised as “35 minutes” on Kraken, unrealistic 4-day installs, and zero work-life balance. Safety is ignored, surveys are done by unqualified people, processes change daily, and there’s no HR if your manager pushes you into unsafe work. It’s a “just smash it out” culture where everything is the “leads” fault and nothing is ever good enough. I’ll be leaving as soon as I can. Easily the worst job I’ve ever had.

      Coworkers are good to work with Gives a Macbook to use, which is nice

      No HR Management is completely clueless, do not know what the employees job requirements are No room for growth, for some reason management almost exclusively hires managers externally Due to this, almost all direct managers do not know how to do the job for at least 4-5 months, which makes them essentially middle men for upper management. Bad pay History of punishing employees with extended probationary periods/performance plans/refusing pay rises due to personal vendettas Unstable growth model, overworking employees who need to train new hires at an untenable rate while dealing with a greatly increased workload, leading to more mistakes with new hires. This is for Octopus Energy Services in particular, as I do not have firsthand experience at Octopus Energy.

      Firstly, I am so sorry that you've left Octopus Energy Services feeling this way. Although this isn’t the feedback we want to hear, it's important for us to have candid feedback so that we can pinpoint where we may not be delivering when it comes to our employee experience. We have worked hard on creating an environment where open and honest feedback is welcomed and used as a way to learn and move forward. We try our best to encourage our colleagues to approach any Manager across Octopus Energy Services about how they are feeling.
