Pros

Because of the Hospital's phenomenal growth, career development opportunities at Northside are almost limitless. I've particularly enjoyed the many Leadership training classes that are offered here and I never cease to be impressed with both the quality of instruction as well as the quality of my classmates. There is a very strong culture of excellence at Northside that can be seen throughout all the departments and you can't help but be proud to be a part of this organization.

Cons

The commute is really the only downside to this job. My drive home (~ 23 miles) can take up to 1.5 hours. Parking here is also not the best but plans are underway to add a large parking deck that will greatly help this situation.

Pros

I love the patient's most of all. The staff is very friendly. We take great care of our patient's. We are able to really take care of our patient's and take the time to address their needs. We are number one in that area and this is the main reason I have stayed here. It really is all about patient care.

Cons

The main con to me is there is only 5 days per year you can call out sick. This includes tardiness. I think 6 tardies per year equals one call out day. Also if you leave before a certain time this is considered a call-out. Which I am amazed nobody has mentioned. I know three co-workers who have been fired over this policy in the past year.

Thank you for your feedback and 8 years of hard work at Northside Hospital. We understand that work-life balance is very important to our employees, it’s important to us, too. Our policy allows employees to automatically accrue PTO to use for vacation, holidays and sick time. You can also transfer hours to another employee or cash out unused hours (up to a certain maximum) at year-end. We hope this information helps.
