Poor management

Pros

Finding friendships with coworkers. Getting a paycheck every other week. Other than this there are no other real pros that I can mention.

Cons

The employee turn over is drastically high. Management is disrespectful, unwilling to train properly, jeopardizing patient care. Team work is not a thing. Harassment is not handled. They try and change policy and procedure when they were followed because someone complains. They worry more about their bonus at the end of the year rather than the equipment need to better patient care. They try to change Hospital policy and then panic if they find out you have contacted human resources. They do not believe in giving the staff the help they need. Proper PPE is not made available.

Pros

Northside Hospital is a wonderful place to work! The nurses I work with are some of the most hard-working and caring individuals I have ever known. We have great relationships with the ICU mid-levels and physicians, and they welcome and value our input. The staff is great, and I feel that the leadership team also welcomes and values what we have to say. With that being said, high quality, safe and compassionate patient/family centered care is always at the forefront. This is certainly a pro, in my opinion. The team values all of this highly and works tirelessly to promote patient and staff safety and satisfaction. They also encourage effective communication among employees. NSH offers many opportunities for continuing education and certification. The unit works toward implementing different quality initiatives & this is beneficial for our patients. Yes, there are tough days, but the comradery is great. I love that we come from all different places in life (age, gender, race, religion, etc.), but we call eachother a "family." We even do fun things together outside of work :) *supportive staff *good benefits *competitive pay *high patient/family and staff satisfaction *educational opportunities *incentives for extra shifts $$$$ *general ICU - we see everything! great learning experiences

Cons

*traffic (at times), but that's Atlanta for ya! working 7a-7p or 7p-7a generally helps you dodge it though :) *documentation system can be tough, but they are working on it!
