Pros

Good holiday. Discounts. Easy to get to. Some training opportunities. Work was not difficult. Manager knew I was saving for something so offered lots of overtime work at time and a half. Offered support if ever needed following reading about upsetting patient situations.

Cons

Some managers not up to the job - didn't understand the service so lower paid employees like myself often had to explain how things worked. Office atmosphere not always pleasant.

Pros

Good work/ life balance. Reasonable pay.

Cons

Lack of recognition when going the extra mile. Appraisals and objective setting tend to be a tick box exercise.

Pros

Shifts can be good if you work with the right staff. I love my patients.

Cons

Long hours. Too much office politics and gossip. Working in mental health there is a high risk of aggression.
