Pros

Some enhancements for working unsocial hours (9pm-6am). Fair annual leave entitlemets and decent pension. Some discounts. Only one worth it is the 10% off at newlook and 20% off at frankie and bennies... rest are rubbish.

Cons

We work ridiculous 12.45 hour shifts with a 45 minute break. Breaks are not paid. Our enhancements have just been cut and I wasn't even informed of this. Pensions not nearly as good for new staff as they keep amending them. Services are extremely understaffed. Ridiculous working patterns. Rude patients who take everything out on frontline staff with little understanding that a lot of issues are to do with lack of funding!

Pros

Varied, rewarding work. Safe employment very low risk of redundancy. Makes a big difference to people. Opportunity to work all over the country.

Cons

Excessive administration, too many guidelines to follow, risk of litigation, toxic high-pressure working environment constantly driven by political targets and non-evidence based new guidelines.
