Defined path, career aspiration difficult

Pros

You often have a defined career path which can be a safe, comforting thing in a good number of situations. There are so many vacant jobs at present that it is possible to be mobile within the scope of your job.

Cons

The employee administration unfortunately tends to be disorganised, HR is never on the employee's side and working hours/support have tended to be patchy and occasionally inadequate.
