Pros

The NHS is a fast pace industry that functions 24 hours a day. Despite contracts stating 09:00 to 17:00 hrs for Senior Management positions. It is not for the faint hearted. It takes a lot of commitment, dedication and hard work.

Cons

The continual cut back in resources, with the expectation to still produce the same or better results. The work load is massive, unrealistic and unachievable with all the limitations and constraints.

Pros

Pros include being in charge of your own work. You will be responsible for managing your workload, coordinating between staff and pharmaceutical companies, and keeping to deadlines. It is rewarding when you get offered praise and meet deadlines. And you are able to see patients you are potentially benefiting.

Cons

The work load is extremely high. Coupled with the NHS pay and high turnover of staff, you often find yourself with additional work.
