Pros

I have been here at MuleSoft for about a month and my experience has been nothing but positive. There is a tremendous energy in the air at their offices with everyone engaged and working hard. The company is on a track of growth and the products are rock solid. Everyone I have been introduced to has been extremely nice and welcoming. Finally, thanks to the thorough recruiting process in place, the level of competence among all groups is very high. All in all, this makes for a great work environment which makes me very happy to have decided to make the move to MuleSoft.

Cons

Can't think of any so far.

Pros

+ Extensive training and on-going development. MuleSoft's training focuses on internalization and mastery vs. memorization and competency + Diversity of backgrounds. Some of the team came from closing roles in tech others have come from investment banking, consulting, teaching backgrounds. + True A-players. Never the smartest person in the room. Challenged by my peers, yet cared about and not directly competing with one another. Not cut-throat. + Strong leadership. The focus is on mastery, growth and support of individual rather than a 'one fits all' approach. + You're not a meeting booker. Instead of just producing activity, I get to drive the strategy side of the deal. I'm energized every day by the problems I'm solving, rather than checking the box of an activity and leaving for the day. + Growth opportunity. Just on my team alone, we've had someone move into management, someone created a role for herself, someone move into customer success, and someone move into an AE role....I just don't see that happening in any of my outside friend's orgs

Cons

- you can't check the boxes here. Excellence is a requirement...but the uncapped commission and accelerators are perfect for that structure - work-life balance is all on you. You choose how you spend your time

Pros

Competitive salary, Good Healthcare, Stable company, Weekly catered lunches and snacks, Working with good people, Opportunities to further your education and skill set

Cons

Overly bureaucratic, Top down communication is seen as the most valuable, leadership can be dismissive of constructive criticism, Leadership micromanages, no work from home policy and if you have a legitimate reason to work from home you’ll get interrogated about it. The company is a little too worried about employees that seemingly want to take advantage of the system. There are too many meetings and the solution to every problem is yet another meeting. The culture is forced.

I appreciate the candid feedback, and I’m sorry to see that you’re feeling this way about our culture and the team. I hear what you’re saying about some of these elements. We are always striving to be better and everything is open and on the table to change. I would love the opportunity to talk through your perspective in person so we can jointly address your concerns. There are a lot of people at MuleSoft who want to hear from you, including myself, because our job is to identify and fix issues, not just in our products and processes, but also in our culture. It’s a “get it done” culture, and we tell everyone in the hiring process that we don’t work from home because we believe that collaboration and getting things done together as a team is a big part of the experience. I personally believe that if you separate people, that spirit and bond gets lost over time and isn’t healthy for anybody. Everyone has personal situations that arise and we try to stay very flexible to accommodate needs as they arise. I would like to understand more about when and how you felt uncomfortable about needing to be away and I’d certainly like to resolve it directly. That’s not in line with the culture we strive for, so let’s fix it.
