      Pros

      Opportunity for impact and working with interesting problems/products. Great pay.

      Cons

      Now, you can have an exceptional performance record with the company, but a single down half leads to a layoff, even if performance has already corrected. Completely discourages risk-taking and innovation. The layoffs in 2022/23 due to an incompetent C-suite already claimed many who didn't deserve it, which of course sabotaged the projects of many of the survivors. Now it seems this is a codified policy: weed out as many people with increased equity vests as possible.
