Pros

Strong benefits, good pay, and solid company. In general the employee culture is one of getting the work done correctly and quickly, and in the customer service call center the expectations are reasonable.

Cons

It's a no hang -up call center, meaning that no matter how nasty a caller gets you have to stay on the phone. Sometimes the back office admin teams make decisions without even considering the impact on the customers.

Pros

The company offered great benefits, including health, dental, long and short term disability, and life insurance. They had a matching 401K option, and flexible spending accounts. The office hours were Monday - Friday, and would provide flexible schedules including 4 - 10 hour shifts, or split shifts to accomidate for employees going back to school or with special needs.

Cons

The insurance industry flows with the financial sector in the market. If the financial or insurance companies are impacted, Metlife also receives a blow. Also, MetLife began offshoring and outsourcing some of its customer service positions. Representatives are now required to be more valuable by cross training on multiple product lines.
