Pros

I'm happy to be working for Cisco Meraki during COVID-19. Although it's crazy busy with lots of meetings and deadlines, I feel really supported with manager and overall team. My manager and I think leadership understands that no one is at 100% efficient right now and that every person is pulled in crazy directions. A few months ago, Cisco decided to reimburse internet for $35 a month (retro to March). It's not my full bill, but every $ helps. Also, they added two more mandatory PTO days during Christmas shutdown. Some people are against this, but I like it, especially if it means no emails from anyone during this time. I think most people have lots of PTO anyways unless you are new. It's basically two weeks off.

Cons

Cisco going through lots of restructuring and layoffs all the time. BUT Meraki is not really affected and is hiring like crazy still. Double digit openings on most teams. For job seekers reading this, better to join one of the acquisitions like AppD, Meraki, Duo rather than mothership.

Pros

- we're a growing company which has the financial stability from Cisco - being part of Cisco during the pandemic has made me realize why Cisco is rated #1 World's Best Workplace this year. They CARE. - culture is amazing - perks of being in the office were great (dog friendly in SF, catered food, unlimited snacks, beautiful offer space and desks are fully equipped) - work-life balance is good - internal mobility is great if you also include greater-Cisco as the same company. Lots of employees move over to Cisco. Meraki is smaller, so unless your team is growing it can be hard to move unless someone leaves - Cisco's benefits are awesome - good PTO package, emergency time off, 5 days/1 week of volunteering (this year they added an extra 5 days on top of that), lots of parental support

Cons

- Very engineering driven org (which is great, if you're an engineer $$$). - when we were in the office, getting to mission bay was a challenge for public transit. That being said, they are allowing everyone to be more flexible with WFH or moving fully remote, regardless of when we go back to the office - starting to lean more on Cisco for guidance, which had both positive and negative aspects during the pandemic
