Pros

There is nothing special about working here compared to other insurance agencies.

Cons

Made a huge deal about matching my salary from previous employer when hired- said that nobody got what I did yet obviously it was standard for a high performing employee. Was reassured several times that my yearly bonus and raise would bump me up and yet I'm still not making as much as I did previously, despite being a top employee. And they pro-rated it because I was barely shy of one year. Stingy. Nothing extra for going above and beyond, for working extra, getting amazing surveys and feedback, etc. My last employer paid triple compared to LM for my bonus and raise, because I earned it. Hard to stay motivated when I know it doesn't matter. They keep dangling a promotion then they move the goal posts despite me meeting every requirement, over and above working constantly. Managers are always micro managing and not leaders themselves. The company car broke down 2 days after I got it and they acted like it was something I did even though records showed it hadn't been properly maintained previously. They nickel and dime for it out of paycheck so it's not much of a perk, especially when the car doesn't work. Such a disappointment after working so hard. I proved my value but they have fallen short.

Pros

Schedule. Work Life Balance. Great benefits and corporate culture.

Cons

Insurance is a very competitive market. Liberty Mutual truly is a great insurance company and provides a better than average experience for the customer. Unfortunately it is hard to sell value and service in an industry to markets on getting the least expensive option. Even Liberty focus much of its advertising on saving money. The reality is Liberty usually cost a little more, but it is worth it. When I was offered the position I was told expect 3-5 years in order to establish yourself in the industry. Unfortunately, after 1 year upper management began “accountability” conversations. Although I am new to insurance, I am not new to sales. The company treating me as an under-performer while I am still in “Rookie” status, and while I have been growing my business as an “outside sales” agent during Covid is disappointing. I left a well paid position, expecting to earn double my earnings in year 1. Despite this, my feeling was Liberty being more frustrated and less understanding than I was.
