Pros

Liberty Mutual has excellent benefits and a good salaries for their employees.

Cons

Liberty Mutual's upper management are very dishonest and lack proper business judgement. The company laid off serveral hundred employees and throughout the process most poeple were told from upper management that everyone would end of with some type of position within the company. And when that didn't pan out they turned around and just appointed people to jobs that had no experience and even gave them a raise. Liberty Mutual got rid of the best of the best in it's service/sales department during the downsize.

Pros

The company is very solid and upper management does operate with integrity. Liberty pays well. I believe that Ted Kelly does operate with integrity. The experience that you gain from working at a company with the reputation that Liberty Mutual has is invaluable. Many of the jobs do offer flexibility.

Cons

The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is always doing. Liberty has been going through quite a bit of restructuring in the commercial markets since the Safeco acquistion took place. The medical insurance program has been cut back significantly. It's a deductible program that requires you to pay a tiered deductible based on your earnings. The highest deductible is $2250 per family. After the deductible is met, employees have 90% coverage for primary care physicians in network, and 80% coverage for specialists. Emergency room visits are also charged an additional fee that becomes a penalty. Out of pocket expense add up.

Pros

Pays well in comparison to other similar positions, without a high expectation to work a crazy amount of hours.

Cons

Does not provide the tools, resources, training, knowledge, etc. that is needed to perform most jobs here. High turnover within the organization.
