Pros

The benefits are good and you can get out of the office quite a bit to go on appointments and networking events. Take advantage of the short term disability program, it's cheap and may come in handy if you are ever injured and cannot work.

Cons

They micro-manage everything you do. They track your sales, outbound calls, length of time on the phone and number of quotes done on a daily basis. On a weekly basis the manager will go over in excruciating detail the types of people you are quoting, why you didn't sell more than you did, and what do you have in the pipeline. Opportunities to advance are slim unless you are in HQ or in a large call center. A lot of the reps who have been there for awhile are spoon fed by the service reps and most people in the whole company aren't to be trusted. The main thing the company worries about is money money money. They are cheap on claims and are constantly worried about "premium leakage" ie getting the most money out of people that they can before they go elsewhere, this includes policyholders and employees.

Pros

LMIG pays incredibly well - especially for people straight out of college. Some managers in the claims department are incredibly receptive, and care a lot about their team members. It is a long standing company who likely won't go out of business anytime soon. Plenty of people spend their whole careers there, so there is plenty of upward mobility options.

Cons

Things change A LOT. Policies for claim staffs tend to be written by management in another state that is rather removed from actual management of claims. They implemented a policy that required we signed a piece of paper everyday that we returned all of our calls/e-mails before we could leave (this of course, contradicted the company's best practices - and was incredibly insulting on a general level). People were even called back after they left if they forgot to sign the piece of paper. An entire division of the claims teams also were informed their positions were being eliminated by a company-wide powerpoint presentation. It was incredibly uncomfortable for everyone.

Pros

Great benefits and pay. This company is dedicated to training and very forward motion when it comes to moving yourself forward professionally.

Cons

Work hours can be long, but that is expected when working with large companies that are global like this one. Relocation is often needed to move forward.
