Pros

Good philosophical foundation for the culture - Mr. Koch has spent years working to apply the lessons of free societies to his organization.

Cons

Cult-like. Little tolerance for straying outside your lane, little interest in your new ideas if you're not a leader.

Feedback Request Not Met

Pros

Working at Koch was such a huge opportunity for me at such a young age. It was my first experience with the private sector and I honestly learned an immense amount about business and myself.

Cons

I left Koch in 2015 to move on to a new opportunity at another company. Recently, I was interested in an open role back at Koch. I felt that both the phone interview and in-person interview went well and I was impressed with the responsiveness from the team leading up to the on-site interview. One business day after the in-person interview, I received an e-mail stating that "The hiring team had made the difficult decision to move forward with another candidate that more closely meets the needs of the position". While I was disappointed that I wasn't selected for the role, I understand and respect the hiring team's decision. I asked the HR representative if the hiring team had any feedback regarding how I could improve for future interviews. While beforehand responses were quick, I haven't yet received a response from the HR rep. Being a former Koch employee, I expected something more substantial than a canned e-mail in response to my interest and time invested in interviewing for their role. Koch is a large promoter of self-improvement and growth, so I was especially disappointed when my request for feedback wasn't met. I hope moving forward Koch focuses on improving the candidate experience, more specifically, the ability to provide constructive feedback to candidates, especially when it is requested.
