Pros

The best reasons to work at KPMG is that you get work with a lot of different companies and learn their business model. You also get to work small teams with people around your age and it could be fun. You will learn a lot about auditing and GAAP and understand financial statements.

Cons

There are a lot of hours that you have to put in during an engagement. Depending on who you work with, some seniors and managers may make you work ridiculously late because they did not budget the engagement very well.

Pros

Good salary, good bonus structure, nice people to work with. KPMG does a good job in most areas. The only improvments I would make is improving work/life balance and giving more respect to employees that work away from home on a regular basis.

Cons

Work life balance is very poor in audit. Tax/TS get paid more for doing less work, how is that fair?

Pros

An amazing benefits package; one of the best I've ever seen. Ample PTO, excellent insurance options, 401(k) and a pension plan. Great use of PeopleSoft to communicate benefits information. Very much invested in "going green".

Cons

Little room for advancement if you're on the support side; cramped quarters. This is yet another professional services company that makes it clear that if you're not on the client-facing side, you're easily replaced and not of much value. Projects involving more than one group that aren't considered crucial by senior management can take months to complete. Moving quickly is impossible. Because this is a global company, the intranet is a behemoth and nearly impossible to browse efficiently. The culture KPMG attempts to create does not consistently drill down to all levels, which is very disappointing.
