Pros

-If you are truly loyal to JYSK, and communicate your career aspirations within management, but also take initiative to work beyond the borders of your role, they will be opportunities for growth. With that being said, the skills you hone will help you get better jobs and pay elsewhere. Hence best place to work short-term (max 3-5 years in the company). If you really want to go high places in the company, you have to network well with the district manager or senior level management. -Always something to do, some people will say there is nothing to do, or it is slow - but that is because they do not take the initiative to do something productive. -Some people are genuinely awesome to work with and overall a really positive dynamic with the team. My store rarely had politics, if there are issues, as long it has been communicated, appropriate actions are taken to address it. Company are always opening new locations, this is a chance to re-locate and/or move up in ranks.

Cons

-Pay is the bare minimum while required to work 42-44 hours (salary based, no over-time pay). Benefits are beyond basic, store discount, health benefits and EAP . No RRSP match (unless you are STORE MANAGER) or other benefits available. -Turnover rate is high within management and associates on store level as people are either quitting, fired or transferred every other month. -Can be extremely stressful at times, with seasonal plano changes, or plano department refresh are all due with tight deadlines. -Extremely tight labor budget, there is a good chance one manager and one cashier will open and/or close. The managers' hours basically take up more than half of the budget not leaving a lot of room for part-time associates. -Bonuses are non-existent, the budget doesn't account for post-covid economy. -Inventory management is very poor within corporate level, either best-sellers stock are sold out for far too long or they send too much stock that is not needed which overwhelms the floor and warehouse.

Pros

There are equal opportunities to advance your career if you want. The salary is above the minimum wage. There are bonuses

Cons

Everyone does everything in a very fast pacing environment, which is tiring. Especially if you have to carry wardrobes etc alone.
