Pros

Pretty relaxed environment and it is rarely ever busy so it’s not a stressful job. Lots of information but very easy to learn. Small staff discount. Usually nice coworkers. Customers are usually grateful when you can help them so it’s rewarding sometimes.

Cons

Pretty disorganized company overall. Managers must work 44 hours so extremely long days are involved with only one 30 minute break granted. Lots of customer issues (items constantly being unavailable, faulty/cheap products, etc.). Bonuses are nearly impossible. There is no transparency within the company so a lot of times nobody knows what’s going on. Managers are usually bullies!!

Pros

Staff were mostly lovely and dedicated to working for you if you were a good manager. Being management allowed a bit of flexiblity to my hours.

Cons

Lots of big promises from head office that never panned out. Literally was asked to change my personality if I wanted a promotion. Terrible communication from head office. No support in store, often leaving new management to figure it out with zero training, this created incredibly high management turnover. No disciplinary procedures, meaning staff could get away with anything. Current district managers had very nasty things to say about any head office member who left the company and would say these things to store management and staff - very unprofessional. Very clear favoritism at play from head office. Company based everything this did in Ireland off of the UK and refused to listen to Irish staff telling them these same things won't work here, causing understaffed stores and stressed staff. All facilities are way too small for the amount of stack the stores are forced to carry. No health and safety in play at all: no training for equipment, no manual handling, no training on accident reports, etc. I could go on and on.
