Pros
Product portofolio looks strong right now. Competitive situation is good for Intel as long as they will keep down the recent series of antitrust letigations. You basically do not need to worry about loosing your job. The company does support career growth. Moving into other positions or even other areas are very common within the company. Trainings are offered and outside classes can be approved by managers. The company also has 7 years sabbatical-2 month full pay vacations. Work/life balance is respected within the company. Most groups allow WFH one day per week, if your job can be done at home.
Cons
Meetings after meetings. Meetings are how things are get done in Intel. Intel does not value outside experience very much. Managers always think that because our manufacturing is so unique that a lot of good methods are applicable. Another side is seniority is more important than talent here. Frankly, I think Intel needs more fresh blood. And for this size, it is natural to be bureaucratic. A lot of good medium managers left the company because higher management roles were cut in 2006. For engineers, because of "copy exactly" some technologies you use may be out of date in the market. Compensation wise, it is about the market level, if not lower.
