      Okay job straight out of university / college, but don't stay for more than 1 year

      Pros

      Colleagues were nice, Bravo incentives are nice (rare to obtain, especially with stingy manager), decent benefits

      Cons

      Management not supporting career growth, strong favouritism (especially with white peers), difficult to switch departments, lack of transparency with lower and upper management, terrible salary for the amount of work given, and management not caring about their team members' mental health

      High Stress Level Job, great if you are willing to work extra hours without pay

      Pros

      opportunity to take courses and lovely team mates.

      Cons

      new updates every week and process keep changing. You have to be current with all the changes along with the extremely high volume of work.You also have to put in 2-3 hours of your own time per day to keep up with the high volume of Claims. Sad part is that this has become a norm for all the adjusters and if you choose to attend your personal life after office hours your work load will spiral out of control.

      Great culture and stability but pay is low in comparison to the industry average

      Great culture with wonderful people, company is very forward thinking, provides a lot of stability

      Cons

      Extremely competitive so promotions are very hard to come by, average salaries are below industry standard despite being the largest P&C market in Canada (unless you are an external candidate or are part of the commercial development training program), employees that begin their career with Intact will find it difficult to move from entry level salaries to what is considered to be an industry standard salary for underwriting positions. Workload is also extremely demanding.
