      Fair place for starters and Onsite coordination roles

      1. Very good for Onsite opportunities. 2. Supporting infrastructure is very good. 3. Good projects - high learnability.

      Cons

      1. Offshore Salary is below par. 2. Recent offshore recruits are having a mismatch-role syndrome. They are put in live projetcs too soon without adequate maturity and skills training. 3. Promotion has become out-of-bound lately for a dedicated employee for over 6 years. 4. Certification policies are not vindicated - looks like the objective of getting people certified is to rate them during appraisals, but not to make them learn. 5. Over emphasis of process documentation which is being used as much less as possible. 6. Middle-level Mnaagers do not show good leadership/motivating to juniors. 7. Hardly any mentoring programmes available.

      1. INFY reputation 2. INFY salary slightly higher. 3. INFY training far better & admired by other companies. 4. Other companies take former INFY employees more readily.

      Cons

      1. bench worries, 2. lost in the crowd, 3. No work and personal life balance 4) Unrealistic expectations - Employee is expected to deliver the project, work for least 9.15 hours and still drive initiatives, write papers, point of views, contribute to the knowledge store, Complete mandatory certifications, manage proposals.

      Good place to work if you are lucky with the assignments

      Pros

      Merit based rewards and appreciation. They try hard to keep up the budget and commitment for these even during tough times. They dont fire you unless you are an extremely poor performer and have failed despite multiple chances to improve. Good work culture. They accomodate people's limitations due to personal, family commitments as much as they can.

      Cons

      Midnight calls and meetings are just a way of life. You've just got to do it, people dont even talk about it anymore. Work-life balance largely depends on the type of assignment. Management can sound silly and superficial during appraisals. No career management as such, though it exists on policy. If you can seek the kind of assignment you want, and with some luck find it, then its not such a bad place. But you've got to keep looking. Pay is not competitive.
