Pros

The company and industry are very interesting. Its interesting because our biggest competitors are some of our biggest customers. There really is a lot of great people and history within IFF and you can see how IFF was able to achieve its success. The company also offers a great deal of global exposure and possibilities if you enjoy politics. Even though I've rated the company poorly, this is due to the more recent direction the company has taken.

Cons

It seems as though senior management has lost touch with the people who make up the organization and are only concerned about the short term so that they can please the market. We recently had a change in leadership with a new CEO which provided me with optimism, though we still have not heard much from him. I understand that the entire economy is sour right now, though IFF management has made some bad choices which have left a large majority of the company disgruntled and I think this is going to have devastating effects on the company.

Pros

-Plant shuts down for 10 days every christmas -Decent starting pay - Not a bad job for entry level to gain experience somewhere -Overtime is offered (Sometimes forced)

Cons

-Constant cost cutting measures including benefits, cafeteria, equipment. -People get their friends hired or people they know over potentially more qualified people. -Hires untrained managers from outside of company -Endless rotation of temporary workers who they put off hiring as long as possible -Do not reward hard working employees -Out of touch upper management. -Small raises -Many other better paying facilities with union benefits in northern NJ -Will lose someone and then load responsibility on as few people as possible to avoid or delay hiring someone new. -Not enough people/material/systems in place to meet increasing demands
