Some flexibility in regard of telecommuting and schedules. First line managers are not control freaks, so you have some freedom.
Cons
Tons of bureaucracy and red tape. Contractors suffer from discriminative policies comparing to regular employees: In my team there is a mix of employees and contractors, and contractors are the ones forced to work in shifts and on call 7x24 support. Contractors are also the ones in charge to cope with the most boring and less interesting duties.
