Pros

Size of the organization and breadth allows a wide range of options for meeting you customer's needs, resources available to each employee are vast, peers are usually very knowledgeable in their disciplines. Senior managment very capable and delivering consistent results. Good salary and excellent benefits.

Cons

Size of the organization makes it often challenging to figure out where to get the answers you need. IBM is very mid management heavy with many layers that often frustrate workers in the trenches. Mid management policies are often in conflict with each other requiring one to work around things - get it done folks that cannot adapt to policy enforcement might struggle.

Good company vision, wide range of jobs and great employee policies.

Cons

Not the same IBM as when I started. I hate hearing that employee's are the most valued resource and they lay off good employee, which could be move to targeted jobs.
