Pros

Your work is recognized and appreciated. All of my coworkers are extremely supportive and helpful. The job pays quite comfortably for what it is and has decent benefits. In my experience as long as you can show you are working and creating value, you are left to complete your work without too much interference. That might differ depending on your team/department.

Cons

As a public company Humana is driven by profit growth and delivering to shareholders. There seems to be a pretty constant pressure on higher ups to deliver, which has downstream effects on employees and their work, not to mention sometimes resulting in layoffs. The team that I work on is understaffed right now because it has not been given the proper resources to handle its workload. It is also an old company and that shows in ways good and bad. Much of its workforce has been there a long time and is used to things working a certain way. There is a decent amount of bureaucracy especially when it comes to IT and software.
