Disappointing - Experience very dependent on whom you work for
Pros
Company is well positioned for future success. Not a bad place if you have a good boss, who is not all about him or herself
Cons
Intensely political. Extremely top down in some areas. They don't really care about their employees. Some incompetent senior management, who are part of the "good old boys" club - which is impossible to break into. Does not care about clinical excellence. Much time wasted on big company stuff just to show they are doing it (employee engagement plans, etc.) Terrible HR department. Per the current head, instead of annual increases, all raises should be a "surpass" so that they are not viewed as expected. And the benefits keep on getting worse. WHen I left, no exit interview or other interactions - i.e.e no one wanted to know why. By the way, several people have noted a a positive that non-bonus eligible employees received $1000 bonuses in recent years as a positive. The truth is that that was done after budget-reduction fire drills that made it almost impossible for people to do their jobs followed by alms embarrassingly high earnings, These extra bonuses were given only because they feared employee backlash. Salary increase budgets are pooled and limited to a number like 3% that ALSO includes salary adjustments. Translation: common to have fights with colleagues (if you have an incompetent leader) where for example they hijack your money to fix a salary glitch elsewhere - try explaining to 3 employees that none of them are getting 3% raises, not because they did not do a good job but because they needed to give another employee who was paid at the 40th %ile the 9% to retain them.
