Pros

Growth opportunity, business of people serving people, purpose driven, diverse, incredible leaders and team members.

Cons

During the pandemic it has been tough not to travel and see colleagues in person. We use Teams for video calls, but not being together has been challenging. We have made it work to accomplish great things though!

Pros

Once in a blue moon it is possible to get employee hotel rates. It might require a miracle from a divine being though in order to be possible.

Cons

They laid off thousands of employees with an automated email. That speaks volumes to company culture. My bosses never reached out. HR never reached out. And we were given 10 days notice, in the middle of a pandemic and the worst economy in decades. Hilton was voted #1 place to work, but that's a massive joke. All management cares about is increasing profits so they can have bigger bonuses. This is why the hotel employees make so little yet the prices of the hotels are out of control. Management is so out of touch with the reality that people faced when they were furloughed. Their resource site for furloughed employees was full of wellness tips and how to relax, do yoga, etc. I don't know about everyone else but the last thing a real human being like me wants to hear from their company when they've lost their income is how to take deep calming breaths. This Company is a joke. Just apply to Marriott instead. They at least treat their employees with a basic level of human decency.

Pros

High pay to perform a simple job. Very much a 9-5 job that you don't need to take home. Benefits are good, especially the employee travel program perks. 5 weeks of PTO after your first year is also unbeatable.

Cons

Very inexperienced people in management roles leads to micromanagement and a lack of overall leadership. Inconsistencies across teams with policies and procedures such as work from home caused a lot of internal issues. The recruiters do a good job of overselling this job. eCommerce team members are just glorified account managers who talk about digital but don't actually execute on digital principles. There are not a lot of opportunities to move up and the promotions are given to those who don't necessarily have experience in those roles. The turnover is very high and the company does not do a good job of trying to retain their talent.
