Pros

Good travel benefits, fun co workers, free meal, plenty of advancement opportunities if you're interested, good managers, looks good on your resume.

Cons

No consistent schedule, working on holidays, customer service gets old really fast and if you do not have a passion for hospitality-it wears you down quick.

Pros

- Strong PTO Benefits - 20 Days the 1st year, 25 thereafter - Team member travel program has low rates if you can secure availability - Health insurance plans are very customizible - 401 match is strong - Work from home one day per week on the eCommerce team - My line manager was one of the best I have experienced in any work place thus far

Cons

- Limited growth opportunities in eCommerce (A lot of demotivated team members for this reason) - Innovation is snail paced and lagging behind competition. If you want a start up feel, this is not the company for you. - Very limited interaction with hotels - eCommerce puts higher emphasis on marketing experience than hospitality experience. A weighted balance of both experiences would allow for a team that better understands and can connect with hotels better. - Little emphasis put on bringing team members together across offices for training initiatives. If you love the travel piece of the travel industry and think that this could be a perk of working at Hilton- it will not be. Budgets are strongly adhered to and considered so please be aware that trainings will be limited to local and in-office opportunities. If you are someone who has a family and do not like to travel this could be a pro for you.

Pros

Hilton has 13 great brands and excellent talent at the manager - mid manager level, they just cant seem to get their senior leadership right and will always fall short compared to Marriott. I loved the work and my actual job their, but every manager I had in 4 years were complete disasters and totally unqualified.

Cons

The biggest con about Hilton is that no matter how smart or talented you are it really doesn't matter. Most people move up at Hilton by sleeping with executive leadership not because of good performance. It really is such a shame. Leadership is the #1 pitfall at Hilton and one of the main reasons why Marriott eat them for breakfast, always getting to market before Hilton with a new idea.
