Pros

Exposure to mega projects and top tier consultants/designers/contractors. Work-life balance is excellent, you are expected to hit KPI's but with a well structured plan this is reasonably straightforward. Company car is provided (branded though...), company phone & laptop, option to purchase extra holiday, employee discounts/purchasing programmes etc. Excellent cameraderie within the company and due to the recruitment process, most people working at HILTI have an innate ability to get along with one another.

Cons

Internal politics and some element of micro-managing (not all managers though). can be frustrating. Business segmentation can lead to occasional friction between segment teams, particularly on large projects. Bonus is not consistent. Company cars are branded. Limited career development options in engineering unless you are willing to relocate to other cities/countries.

Pros

- Coworkers (Hilti does a good job selecting people with great personalities) - Training (the 3 weeks training in Manchester are amazing)

Cons

- If you get a bad patch, you're screwed (this is like playing the lotterie... are you willing to work for the basic pay?) - If you have a bad manager, you're screwed (some really bad managers can stay for a very long time because anyone does anything about it) - the career progression sounds great, but really in the UK, if you cannot go to Manchester your progression options are very limited - the van is a liability when you live in London (they don't pay for parking, you often work in areas where there are simply no parking unless you have a permit, then when you have a ticket it's on you)

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are really pleased to hear that you valued our Account Manager, Basic Training. We're extremely proud of the training we're able to give to our new Account Managers not only when they join, but at regular points throughout the year and work closely with our European Training team to ensure the material continues to evolve with the needs of our employees. At Hilti, we also have a dedicated Territory Management team that work closely with our Sales Directors and Regional Managers, to evaluate the performance of our 'patches/territories' and align on sales targets for each individual area. We acknowledge that not all of our employees are able to relocate for roles based at our Headquarters in Manchester, and over the past three years we have heavily invested in more senior, field based roles - to increase the number of local development opportunities that we have available. We’d love the opportunity to discuss all of the points listed in your feedback, in more detail. If you would like to send your contact details to gbcareers@hilti.com, a member of the team will be in contact.
