Pros

Some nice people work there, but many leave after 6 months or so of working here - once they gain an idea of the corporate culture

Cons

No loyalty to its employees - many are fearful of losing their job at any time; Many good people are "let go" for no sound reason, other than the whim of management; About 4o% of employee base are on "performance plans" to ensure that Henkel can let them go at any time; Management is not always open to new, innovative ways of doing business - especially former Dial employees (many intimidated by those who have worked for other CPG companies); German leadership is not present enough for sound business decisions to be made; lose many "good" professionals in their field because of the lack of solid leadership with a vision for future growth and new ideas; Due to the corporate culture, many people are "out for themselves" because there is no loyalty to employees and their hard work; Company morale is low!

It's complicated

Pros

Good pay, great health benefits, pretty good opportunities for job rotation. It's fun to work with other cultures, and from a retail perspective we have some of the biggest and best in the country. People early in their career can learn a lot and easily jump to other companies in the future.

Cons

Despite all the pros, the cons are winning the battle right now. Leadership is trying hard to "cut their way to the top" and turnover is accelerating. Workloads are increasing for everyone and morale is declining. HQ in Germany doesn't value experience or insights from the regional offices; they just want us to execute on their decisions. Too bad really. Oh, and I can't forget the forced-ranked annual review process. Popular in the 80s, I can't understand why Germany loves it so much. Definitely a morale killer.
