Pros

Allows for some nice work-life balance. Working from home is frequently encouraged where need-be.

Cons

Low morale, long hours & unlikelihood of bonuses based on poor decision-making. Has created a culture this year of revolving doors with an expectation of even more people leaving in the next 3 months. Leadership (Germany) continues to make enormous mistakes that affect all. Incredible, astounding erros this year, and already mistakes made that will severely impact 2019. Ultimately it's difficult when you see so many talented people working relentlessly to combat decisions they had nothing to do with. To get monthly updates on how poorly we're struggling. Unfortunately, there truly is not yet end in sight. But we're trying!

Pros

“Summer Fridays”, although the hours are so long that they haven’t really happened. Ability to work from home on a flexible schedule IF Your department approves

Cons

I loved this company as sun products And every day seems to be a downturn cent and every day seems to be a downturn since Henkel took over. They have such stringent policies and global practices yet nobody knows what they’re doing or who to go to and every project that I have worked on has been a mess from beginning to end. Very political, bureaucratic, fake upper management encouragement. The transition and January was absolutely horrible and we are still recovering from it

Pros

Nice coworkers if you can find the right ones and avoid the troopers. Pay is good for the area. Good 401k match compared to a lot of places. Interesting work.

Cons

Rewards are rarely based on performance. Those who aid and abet the German troops will be rewarded. Those who perform well--but resist the propaganda machine and transatlantic power grab, or aid, abet, and give refuge to the idea that Americans can get things done as well as their tight-panted, floppy-haired, colored-glasses-framed counterparts--will be put on trains to other camps of employment. Management will reward the troopers, no matter how incompetent, by randomly creating new VP and Director ranks for them, which results in a very top-heavy organization with about 20% Directors and VPs. Obviously it is so much better to keep paying them their bonuses and six figures while controlling costs through layoffs of the lower ranks, cheapening of products, and cuts in training and essential travel.
