Pros

Good benefits, and a diverse and relaxed culture. I enjoy working with my immediate team, and have stayed mostly due to them.

Cons

Hearst is a very org-chart intensive company, with multiple divisions all siloed off from one another up to the board. The silos exist in all areas of Hearst, and innovation is often stifled by staying in your silo, and not making waves.

Pros

Good people to work with.

Cons

They are way behind in compensation to employees, especially part-time and temporary workers, compared to other companies in the publishing field. And when an increase is requested after more than 5 years at the same rate, it's denied with a qualifier that it's not their policy.
