Pros

A lot of really great people working there. Some great opportunities and great brands on their own.

Cons

Solutions are not state of the art. Branding is a mess. Nobody ever heard of Hearst. Can work together between divisions; tv, paper, magazines

Pros

Heast has a state-of-the-art tech stack. The benefits are top-notch, the product set is best-in-class, and the perks are plentiful. The people who do the work are solid individuals.

Cons

Executive leadership is always at war, and the power factions don't make it easy to lead or be led with integrity. As many of my former colleagues told me, "it's the most politically charged organization they've ever experienced." The job lost me, and so did the culture. There a several senior executives who are just not honest, have their own agenda, and some... cheer for others to fail. I've watched from the sidelines (or the peanut gallery) and just felt bad. It's a shame. I believe they continue to leave money on the table because positioning and power take precedence over solid sales and business practices.
