Pros

The benefits are great and the salaries are at the top of the industry. They have a great cafeteria!

Cons

Each magazine is very top-heavy and it is very corporate in this way. The management often turns a blind eye to abuse of lower level employees by senior level employess

Pros

I have been here less than a year, however I want to say this is a great place to work. The people are extremely nice and quite helpful, and I never feel like I am part of a 'rat race'. truth be told, I had no clue what I was getting myself into when coming here, but I definitely do not regret my choice. Location is great, perks are EXCELLENT, people are great to work with, and there is a sense of work.life balance here, which is very important for me (and should be for anyone reading this)

Cons

There are some long hours, however that only comes in when there is a crunch for a project, a story, or some sort of launch. Otherwise, I would say most people tend to leave the office around 6 or so. (most people trickle in around 9/9:30 or close to 10 depending on your division...to put it into perspective.) There are lots of meetings and you definitely need to be up to date on what's going on.

Pros

To work in the media industry these days is tough of course. But despite big lay offs, people are still energetic and optimistic and come with new ideas on a daily basis. And have never worked at a place with so many talented people.

Cons

Could be better communication between the local newspapers and the HQ. Could be better cooperation between online and print.
