Doesn't Care About Employees after Buyouts

Pros

Decent pay and benefits, good HR team.

Cons

Was part of a company that was bought by Hearst. We were told there would be "no changes" and things would only get better. Shortly after the deal went through, several colleagues were laid off with no notice, including long time employees. This company considers you disposable at a moment's notice due to "organizational changes." I do not recommend working here.

Pros

Decent pay, good benefits, overall supportive culture for a large company

Cons

Bad managers in the tech division. High level of overturn with entry and mid level employees as a result of this. Managers are hired from other publishing companies for the hype but without deeper understanding of their technical background.
