Pros

Ok place to work - friendly people overall but not very efficient. Good place to start your career but probably not advance or learn a lot.

Cons

Outdated tools and technology, high employee turnover. Static industry and the company reflects that. Very corporate culture, not much innovation

Pros

Worked as an intern on the Ad/Sales side for the Hearst Design Group. Everyone on the team was supportive and encouraged interns to be proactive, curious, and hard working. Learned a lot about the publishing industry and how it is integral to a magazine. Hearst community is unified and strong!

Cons

The only con is that interns are unpaid (school credit only). Especially since living in New York is very expensive, would encourage interns to look for grant or funding for costs.
