Pros

Hearst is an incredible company to be a part of and offers a lot of opportunity for growth, as fast or as slow as you want it. If you show desire and perform well, you can go far. With 31 Television Stations to chose from and a proven track record on a sales team at one of them, opportunities to move up into management are there. It is a fast paced environment where, as an account executive in sales, your income is incentivized through a commission structure that pays well, and a support team that backs you to find success and earn a great living. Hearst Television is equipped to offer sales teams numerous tools (like research for selling) and integrative, top of the line products that are progressive and up to date (like with digital) to offer comprehensive solutions to local advertisers.

Cons

Can be high pressure at times with short deadlines to make - time management is key. You're running your own book of business while answering to a team of managers who are there to run the station top-down and enable you on the streets. You really need to have a dedication to your work, daily focus is key, and multi-tasking is a huge part. Often you need to find time to do your 'busy work' after hours or on the weekend, as there can be times where this is just so much. This is definitely not a traditional 9-5 career where you leave your work at the office, it's a 24-7 job that requires you to think on your feet, be responsive, and be a part of the community. These are not necessarily cons, but are important to consider.
