Pros

Opportunity to learn Digital Advertising.

Cons

THE WORST CORPORATE CULTURE! Print is becoming obsolete yet they push you, with boiler room sales tactics, to bring in a ridiculous amount of print advertising even though you are supposedly selling digital. Zero employee respect, you are treated like a dishonest "bad" child. Egos of managers and Publisher (and above) are beyond imagination! STAY AWAY, you will be beaten down and leave....highest turnover in the business! Quotas are changed to avoid paying commissions....complete lack of scruples!

Pros

This company is serious about their properties. Hearst is a debt free company. Hearst does not buy stations to build up and sell off. At the station I worked at, Hearst purchased the station and immediately building in upgrades to the facilities. Hearst values its products and settles for nothing short of being number one in the market.

Cons

Hearst promotes from within. Great if you are in the company, not so good if you are an employee of the previous owner. Hearst adjusted the size of the staff, released currently employees and brought in Hearst employees. If you are not up to speed on digital marketing, this is not the place for you. Media has changed and Hearst is a big part of that. If you cannot sell digital you will not be successful.
