Pros

The company truly cares about the health of its employees, which is nice, considering it's a health-based company. Fitness classes are offered on site, and the cafeteria is full of fresh, organic food.

Cons

Every day you walk in the building wondering "is today the day I'm doing to be let go?" I've been with the company for just over two years, and it seems that every couple of months, there are more mass layoffs. Nobody is safe. Employees (particularly those right out of college) are ALWAYS overworked and WAY underpaid.

Worst company I've ever worked at. Do not work here

Pros

Good middle management team but terrible upper management.

Cons

Company has no regard for employee safety. Requires employees to come to work even though the whole city of Charlotte is shut down due to snow. There is capability to work from home but management does not allow. If we work from home it is personal time off even though there is black ice on the roads. We have to book every hour of our time and projects to make our "8 hours" per day. No flexibility at all even though we are salaried. 70% or more turnover in this department yet management blames it on other companies paying more money rather than reflecting on what they are doing wrong. Health care sucks and 401k match is a joke. No career opportunities as other departments don't like to promote people outside of their own department.

Pros

Hearst is a very big company with a lot of great products. They don't have any debt and job security is strong.

Cons

It depends on which station you work for. Sometimes the people they appoint to leadership have no business leading anything.
