      The hours are long and irregular as the oil field service industry operates 24/7 (average 70-80 hours/week). A high School diploma or equivalent, stable work history, CDL or the ability to obtain one and a good driving record are required.

      Lower pay but low overtime and stress

      Pros

      There is very little overtime and the flexiblity for taking time off (both planned and unplanned) is great. You have basically unlimited sick time and a great environment if you want to start a new family and spend more time with your kids. Daycare on site.

      Cons

      The starting pay is lower than other companies with the same position and while the preformance reviews give you an okay annual increase, even with a promotion I have been hard pressed to meet the median salary offered at other companies.

      Pros

      This company is a small entity within the Halliburton group. The ambiance is very good. Working conditions are very good: good compensation, a kind of job security, up to date computers... The content of the job is very interesting, whatever position you have.

      Cons

      The management is so concentrated on the customers, that it's partly missing one of its essential task: managing people. It takes few initiatives to take care of employees growth and their career opportunities.
