Good employer, awful pay structure.

Pros

Hourly employees in oil will make more money than almost any other sector.

Cons

Once you switch over to salary, you simply don't get raises. It doesn't matter if you're the single best employer in your category in an entire region. It's gotten so bad that promotion and increase of responsibility for no raise is becoming the norm. A good place to build a resume, but don't build your 10 year around Halliburton.

Pros

Cant think of any pros

Cons

Constant wage cuts and lies while management award themselves pay increases for making huge mistakes and losses. Shockingly bad equipment which Houdini couldn't make work with fewer staff now and more working days for field staff. Management are non existent and couldn't "manage" to find their way out of paper bag. Baker and SLB are light years ahead on all front. Stick to cementing Halliburton

Pros

If you want to work a lot, this is the place. Pay is at the bottom end of the industry average for mechanics Work isn't very difficult

Cons

Upper management is near incompetent No organization with scheduling, maintinence process, or maintaining parts No tool allowance or profit sharing Very high turnover rate Overworked, at least 60 hours a week, (right now it's slow) they dont care about your family or personal life. Better find someone else to run your errands and pay your bills, you may be told you work in the shop, but that won't stop them from sending you 8 hours away for weeks at a time to work on a wellsite. I have been sent 4 hours away from home to work for a week, didn't have a hotel or man camp scheduled for me, had to sleep in my truck.
