Pros

In my experience at Halliburton, there are few things I'd consider to be "Pros." In fact, the only "Pro" that comes to mind is that I can now mention the company in my resume.

Cons

Not a good place for young engineers to gain experience. Yes, the pay is decent, and yes, it is good to put on a resume, BUT you will leave with very little applicable job experience, which may limit your potential future earnings.

Pros

I am a geek and never want to stop learning. If you are like me then Halliburton is a great company. Good benefits, daycare onsite, gym onsite, more opportunities than you ever thought could exist, and continual learning. The company offer's $5,000 a year for an employee to take classes at a university. Halliburton also has their own university. Most employees are always taking classes. This makes the employees stronger and the company. The managers listen and try to put you where you want to be. The people are happy to be there. I witness many people working extra hours but not because they must......it's because they WANT to and are happy with their career. One coworker said it best, "I wake up in the morning and I never think I HAVE to go to work today.....it's I GET to go to work today".

Cons

The employees are ALWAYS busy. Too busy. I don't know how I ever have time to complete everything I do but it gets done. I really hate all the busy work. I don't think it is Halliburton's fault. I believe it is most likely a company size issue.

Pros

was a good location for me, close to home. Starbucks onsite

Cons

outsourcing big time. Accenture has deep root in the IT department. outsource a lot of work to Accenture in India or Accenture onsite, end up spend more money and time to do IT project. but they have money, who cares.
