Pros

HSBC has a lot of opportunities to make things better, and there's an enormous amount of work that truly needs to get done.

Cons

Management makes up its mind what it wants, and wants to hear, and if it doesn't hear it, it shoots the messenger. Those that report what management wants to hear are rewarded, and usually move to another role before the chickens come home to roost.

Pros

HSBC had Good people and management made an emphasis on being fair to employees. It was easy to be successful.

Cons

Things change here too fast. Due to the economy HSBC is going to be closing. Benefits are getting worse each year.

Pros

If you're looking for a overtly "stable" no tension non aggressive place to work - this is it. They do have some of the best HR practices though and are located in civilization as against the dark side of the moon in Hinjewadi!

Cons

If you're looking for speed, learning & world class professionalism - this is NOT the place to be. Plus you need to be an old timer - newbies will find it hard to break through the old boy network as knowing the "right" people is important.
