      Great Place to Work but Demanding at Times

      Pros

      The experience from HKA has served me well in the Construction industry. At HKA, I learned to do thorough research efficiently. My written communication skills greatly improved as well. There are lots of opportunities for growth and constant learning.

      Cons

      Work was very demanding at times and I felt as if there was a lot of interference with my personal life outside of work. A lot of overtime was expected at times and in some instances my colleagues and I would work from 8 am - midnight in order to meet deadlines. I heard that other offices would give additional days off after a deadline but it seems as if the office I worked at overlooked the amount of work we put in. I would also get calls and requests to prepare work product late in the evening and at one point I worked every weekend for almost three months straight.

      It's a large corp and it can feel somewhat sterile as to how the actual execs communicate and interact

We try to be authentic and communicate as much as we can in a variety of forms from videos, to being live in TownHall meetings and over our intranet and emails. We are passionate about moving forward with a hybrid model where colleagues can work in our offices and also from home. We see many benefits of being together and yet also providing flexibility for working remotely too.
