Pros

I get to work with a smart group of ppl at least on my team. The benefits are "ok", about the only reason I'm still here. I'm full time with benefits, salary, 401k. I've met the CEO while playing ping pong in the rec room during a break, he was very nice and interested in the work we do.

Cons

Do not expect much pay (very low end of the spectrum, there is very little job role separation in the work or tier and the pay does not compliment your role, only on the lowest end. If pay is your goal please keep looking. Work life balance exists until about 1 hour before the weekend this and suddenly they have never heard of it, watch out for that. This would be fine if they would give everyone a heads up early in the week as everyone has plans for the weekend and that is very unprofessional.

Pros

The people you work with while you're there

Cons

You are just a number, once they are done with you, regardless of the hours/dedication, they just don't care. I was a Dell employee, and my account was taken over by HCL. HCL hired me on to continue supporting the account, and stated I would stay there, and at most be asked to perhaps assist on other accounts (I was a WFH employee). Everything was good for 3 year... first year in the account encountered a severe issue with a vender (IBM). It took 2 years to get out of that disaster. In that time the now backup team (I was alone when Dell owned the account) was mentioned multiple times in the CIO Monthly letter, Shooting Star awards, etc. The customer was extremely satisfied and happy with the effort on their account. I was the Lead Backup Engineer. As soon as the account was out of the woods caused by the vender (IBM). a few "weeks" later I was sent an email from HCL, saying great news! They were looking for new Career Opportunities for me! What? I was hired to support this account, what was going on? Well, I was then informed (not informed of this when I was hired) that apparently HCL has a lovely policy, that every 18 months they attempt to shift you to a different account. A total surprise to me... The best part, is this "career opportunity" is about 99% guaranteed for those working IN India. How about the US employees you ask? Well, if they can't find you another account in 2 months, you're gone, out of a job. The people I worked with while at HCL were great... the company not so much. I would never recommend this company to anyone after the way I was treated. I was in the CIO's monthly atta-boy news letter a month prior to them telling me to hit the bricks... STAY AWAY!

Pros

As a fresher got a good glimpse of the IT infrastructure and what career path he can choose HCL as a whole is a goo company to work with Good policies employee friendly

Cons

Its just about the Staples project Its pathetic, and absurd extreme third class workforce and politics as this is a service desk project The one who actually works is never considered but the on who is close to the manager just because they drink with them are always rewarded. I believe the HR is also aware of these problems but thy don't care. People are just involved in unnecessary credit making. Mental harassment is at its hig. The view of Management towards a new employee depends on the other old employees. If someone is trying to lean an trying to give his best other colleagues with pull him down to the core here comes the role of a manager but he is least bothered. Unnecessary work pressure. and fooling the client users everyday when some issues are not easily fixed
